Privacy Policy

Please read the following Privacy Policy carefully. When you use our application (Qually), you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy.

Qually is a service that provides you access to your personal network. This enables you to, amongst other things, search for and share information, communicate with other people and create new content. When you share information with us, for example by creating a Qually Account, we can make those services even better – to help you connect with people or to make sharing with others quicker and easier.

We take your privacy very seriously. This Privacy Policy document describes Qually’s (“The Service”) policies and procedures on the collection, use, disclosure, and sharing of your information when you use the Qually Service, via one of Qually’s applications for mobile devices (e.g., the Qually iPhone application). We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information we collect by other means (including offline) or from other sources.

User Content

"Content" means any information, text, graphics, or other materials uploaded, downloaded or appearing on the Service. You retain ownership of all Content you submit, post, display, or otherwise make available on the Service.

Information Collection and Use

Qually uses information we collect to analyze how the Service is used, diagnose service or technical problems, maintain security, personalize content, remember information to help you efficiently access your account, monitor aggregate metrics such as total number of visitors, traffic, and demographic patterns, and track User Content and users as necessary to comply with the applicable laws.

User-Provided Information

You provide us information about yourself, such as your name, e-mail address and interests, if you register for a member account with the Service. Your name and other information you choose to add to your profile will be available for viewing by others you choose to add to your network while on the Service. We may use your email address to send you Service-related notices (including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail) or marketing related emails. If you do not want to receive such messages, you may opt out by following the instructions in the message. If you correspond with us by email, we may retain the content of your email messages, your email address and our responses.

You also provide us information in User Content you post to the Service. Your questions, answers, and other contributions on the Service, and metadata about them (such as when you posted them), are viewable to relevant people in your immediate (and sometimes extended) network, along with your name (unless the Service permits you to post anonymously).

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Service, we use session cookies (for information on cookies, please see below) and other tracking technologies such as log files and clear GIFs to: (a) analyze the usage of the Service; and (b) customize the Service to your preferences. We also may include clear GIFs in HTML-based emails sent to our users to determine whether the message has been opened. As we adopt additional technology, we may also gather additional information through other methods.

We use these automated technologies to collect and analyze certain types of information, including: (a) information related to the devices or browsers you use to access or interact with the Service, such as: IP addresses, unique device identifiers and other information about your mobile phone and unique numbers or codes in cookies; and (b) information related to the ways in which you interact with the Service, such as: referring and exit pages, platform type, the number of clicks, pages viewed and the order of those pages, the amount of time spent on particular pages, the date and time you used the Service, and other similar information.

Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of information represented by keys and values stored in the mobile’s local file system - as allowed by the operating system. It helps us in many ways to make your visit to our mobile application (app) more enjoyable and meaningful to you. Among other things, cookies avoid you having to log in every time you come back to our app.

Generally, we will be using session cookies to i) authenticate you as a user. This helps keep your account safe and secure from unauthorized use, and helps combat spam and other abuse which violates our policies and ii) Better understand how people use our service.

When using our services on a web browser, you can disable browser cookies or set your browser to alert you when cookies are being sent. However, some areas of our application may not respond properly, if you do so.

How We Share Your Information

Qually may share your information with third party service providers for the purpose of providing the Service to you, such as email service providers, and providers of technical infrastructure (such as servers or databases co-located with hosting providers), engineering, or other support.

We may disclose your information if we are required to do so by law, or if we believe in good faith that it is reasonably necessary to (i) respond to claims asserted against us or to comply with legal process (for example, subpoenas or warrants), (ii) enforce or administer our agreements with users, such as the Terms of Service; (iii) for fraud prevention, risk assessment, investigation, customer support, product development and de-bugging purposes, or (iv) protect the rights, property or safety of Qually, its users, or members of the public.

By using the Service you consent to the transfer of your information to Singapore (since our cloud infrastructure may be based there) and/or to other countries for storage, processing and use by Qually in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

We may aggregate and/or anonymize information collected through the Service so that the information does not identify you. We may use aggregated, anonymized, and other de-identified information for any purpose, including for research and marketing purposes, and our use and disclosure of such information is not subject to any restrictions under this Privacy Policy.

How We Protect Your Information

Qually takes all reasonable steps to preserve the integrity and security of your information to the best of our knowledge and abilities. We cannot, however, ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to Qually or guarantee that your information on the Service may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

You will be responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your accounts and passwords.

Your Choices About Your Information

You may, of course, decline to submit information through the Service, in which case Qually may not be able to provide certain services to you. You may update or correct your account information and email preferences at any time by emailing us at our official email address.

Children’s Privacy

Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important. Qually does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register with the Service. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the relevant age without parental consent, we take steps to remove that information.

Links to Other Web Sites

We are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from the Service, nor the information or content contained therein. Please remember that when you use a link to go from the Service to another website, our Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. Your browsing and interaction on any other website, including those that have a link on our website, is subject to that website’s own rules and policies.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

This privacy policy is viewable at http://www.qually.com/privacypolicy (“Privacy Policy Page”). If we change our privacy policies and procedures, we will post those changes to the Privacy Policy Page to keep you aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we may disclose it. Changes to this privacy policy are effective when they are posted on the Privacy Policy Page.
